For my free choice picture, I chose to have a color pop against a black and white background. I did this three different times to see how it would look on different pictures. The first two are pictures of my nephew and the last was when I was little and I am kissing my brother's nose. I chose to do this technique because I thought it could make these pictures stand out more. Three different things I learned while doing this are: color pop helps extenuate things in a picture, I got better at using layers, and using masks. For the pictures, I made layers and used masks to make the original photo black and white, then drew on the color.
I decided to do another picture because I had an extra day. For this I took different pictures of my cats and then cut them out of each one. I pasted them into this yard and made it look like grass was covering their feet. I did the grass by making different layers of the original image and then putting the layers on top of the cat images. I learned more about layers while doing this. I also learned more about the lasso tool and how to paste layers into different images.
