THE MUSE
The original artwork was done by Graffmatt who is a french artist from Chambéry in Southeast France. The urban scene is his main source of inspiration. This artwork is named The Muse. I picked this artwork because it can be interpreted in many different ways. The wood behind the girl makes her stand out. The strip of pink draws the focus to her eyes. I also choose this one because it looked challenging to replicate. First I changed the first layer into black and white. Then I made a different layer with the wood picture and used a mask to make the first layer show through. Using multiple layers I made the pink strip near my eyes and below my chin using the same wood picture, but just making it have a pink tint. Then I put random dots all over and smears in the corners to make it look worn like the original picture. The last thing I had help with was making the first layer have more contrast. Changing the threshold level and posterizing the picture made it stand out more. You can see the difference in contrast of the first and second pictures. I really like how this turned out.
